The snow is starting to retreat!
We came through this winter in one piece, body and soul still intact it would appear. Cause to celebrate.
We celebrated with a hike around Signal Hill National Historic Site this past weekend. The first one since last fall. As usual, it was breathtaking in every sense of the word.
About five years ago my mind thought it would be a good thing if I too started running. After a few attempts, it became evident that my body was of an entirely different point of view.
Then someone told me about a 'plan', something that could help you become a runner.
Learn To Run, with the Running Room.
10 weeks. Brilliant.
I like plans. I decided to give it a try.
I told my people about my new Learn To Run plan. The conversation with my youngest son went something like this:
Me: "Hey Aaron, do you know the best way to learn how to run?"
Aaron: "Put a wolf behind you."
Hmmmm. I think my son's Learn To Run plan truly captured what was missing for me from The Running Room's plan- motivation.
The photo on the left is the seaward side of the path while the photo below is the harbour side.
The view going down these stairs takes my breath away every time, as does the walk back up!
I heard there are around 900 steps on the trail! I've been meaning to count them. Maybe next time.
This plane is not crashing!
The plane is on its way to the airport while I am tucked away on the lower portion of the North Head Trail.
Flying into St. John's from the west generally sees you overshoot the coast line for just a little, and swing around to return west to the St. John's International Airport.
This delightful approach gives you the opportunity to take in the view of the long rugged coastline and the huge ocean. Gorgeous! I flew in last year and the ocean was peppered with bergs. A rare treat.
This photo was taken Sunday past with my iPhone.
