I am all about celebrating.
I think it is important to make a big deal about life's milestones, such as birthdays and anniversaries.
I also think it is important to make a big deal about the more mundane things, like breathing. The older I get the more impressive such mundane little miracles seem. Just because we do something about 25,000 times a day doesn't make it any less a miracle!
But I digress...already!
Today is all about a big thing! My first anniversary of photo blogging. I thought it would be appropriate to celebrate with a cake shoot. I picked up a cake at The Rocket yesterday when I was checking out the cruise ship in the harbour (a post for another day).
Vanilla Cream. Yum. And pretty too.
I started photo blogging on May 31st, 2014 to 'keep me honest'; to provide some commitment to my current self-employment path.
It worked! I have done lots of photographing this past year, and lots of writing.
I am now selling photos on two stock libraries: iStock and Shutterstock.
It has been a very positive experience so far. A big thanks for all the feedback, my friends. It wouldn't be any fun without you. You know who you are!
Everything Else Is Gravy. True that, and there happens to be a lot of gravy in my life- literally and figuratively.
Now...what did I do with the rest of that cake?
It has been awhile since I did a 'munch fest'. I happen to know that, for a few of you, it is a favourite part of some of the food blogs that I have done. Here is my first studio munch fest, captured with a Canon 100mm macro lens, one studio light and a reflector. The cake was delicious!
